Valerie Weigmann's life purpose is to build lives through music and help indigenous communities in the process.
The indigenous communities of the Philippines is one sector of society that have been sadly overlooked by many. They live in poverty, but with sheer hard work and determination, continue to live with smiles on their faces. And this is where Musikaramay Para Sa Mga Katutubo enters the picture – an advocacy that endeavors to help raise funds to be shared with our less fortunate brothers and sisters in far-flung areas.
In Mayantoc, Tarlac alone (see photo grid above), Valerie Weigmann initiated the move to spread awareness of the community’s plight. For the past couple of months, she has been promoting the Musikaramay street concert events (together with MUSIClimax Band) at Eastwood Mall and Bonifacio Global City where donations in cash and kind can be given. And just recently, she went with her group of friends and fellow advocates to share the modest bounty with the beneficiaries who were unceasingly grateful.
In efforts like this, sustainability is the key. The drive to help the neediest of our native communities all over the country can be continuously enduring for as long as the giving heart is willing to be of service. :-)
