Face-to-Face with John Israel San Luis

There is a good reason why I picked John Israel San Luis of Santa Maria, Bulacan as one of my favorites in Misters of the Philippines 2014. He looks so refreshingly different in person – and in a very good way. Most of his pictures don’t give him enough justice. His face definitely requires to be photographed from the right angles and he needs to be conscious about which side he should put forward once the cameras start clicking.

Raised by a close-knit family, John Israel’s advocacy is for the elderly. In his online bio, it states that “My parents’ compassion for the needy and the elderly has provided a strong impact of my being. After two decades and two years of my existence in this beautiful gift of life, my passion to help the elderly, those that are housed on homes for the abandoned aged persons, and those elderly-on-the-streets has a strong desire for me to help them and provide them homes, shelter, support, affection, health needs and love with deep respect for them.“

This six-feet tall Tourism Management major from Far Eastern University – who is also being tagged by his FB followers as the special someone of former Bb. Pilipinas candidate Rose Pujanes – deserves more notice than what he is getting right now. He may just be a simple guy with simple dreams. But in the competition, he could definitely offer something more.

Who knows? He joined Misters of the Philippines 2014 to have himself molded into a better person. He just might get a just reward for wanting to improve himself with a clearer career path in the short- and mid-term.
