The original speech (with revisions) of Bea Rose Santiago that helped her win Miss International 2013
“Its almost Miss International and i remember around this time i was cramming for my speech! It wasn’t until late November when i wrote my winning speech. Ara Pia and i went to Roxas City to help during #typhoonyolanda i had no idea the 3rd level of Roxas City, City hall changed my life. The experience was so overwhelming i thought i was gonna cry! all the people from different sorts of organization (canadian troops, UN, etc) were there and i had to say Thank you in 10 secs! Honestly….. They are the reason for my speech, Thank You! Those beautiful souls helping us, they deserve the best way of thank you. Of course, behind my speech was equally beautiful people who stayed with me for hrs making sure i will deliver every lines with love and sincerity. We made sure that the thought should be straight from my heart. I made so many but at the end i did my very best! My aunt Aurelia L. Castro, direk chris violago of abs cbn, Dale Carnegie masters doodz policarpio and Oliver Espiritu my ESA teachers sir Bong and sir Gian. Thank you for believing in me. Sorry if matagal ko na sabi pero i always thank god for my mentors. You didn’t ask credit or anything i am forever grateful for all your support! – here are some of them my mentors deserve to be named!!”
In just a little over a month from now, Bea Rose will be returning to Tokyo, Japan. Initially, she will be doing some photo and video shoots in preparation for the arrival of delegates to Miss International 2014 by the last week of October. The moment the batch is complete, she will also act like a big sister to all the new contenders vying for the crown on top of her head. And in between the activities, she will be finalizing the speech that will be simultaneously aired during her farewell walk.Time really flies so fast. And Bea Rose can’t help but feel a mix of emotions that is mostly filled with happy memories of the year that was. Regardless of some intermittent regrets for not having been given the opportunity to do a lot of travels during her reign, she remains grateful.
Having given much pride and honor to the country, our Miss International 2013 remains a true symbol of the world-class Filipina. :-)
