In any international beauty competition, a candidate never aims to win the Miss Congeniality award by mission or intention. It is one honor that – however small – is big indication of a person’s naturally friendly ways.
In the ongoing Miss World 2013 pre-pageant activities, a cynic would think that our Megan Young is spreading herself too thinly by befriending practically everyone – from candidates to chaperones to production crew to attending volunteers and the like. But that is classic Megan Young. Not only is she one sincere lass. She always goes beyond her means to reach out, share her thoughts and be a shoulder to lean on if need be. Truth be told, it can be quite difficult to pretend-friendly or become consistently amicable with everyone if a person is not really one.
One good example of Megan’s nice attitude is shown whenever photographers would swarm around her for solo shots. Instead of hoarding attention to herself, she would ask friends (or whoever is beside or near) to join her in the picture-taking. The element of selflessness can be traced without really trying.
And that for you, dear readers, is what friendly Megan is all about.
