You see, there is always pride in being proclaimed a national winner. But the more motivating factor for any beauty queen is to actually wear the Philippine sash in an international pageant – be it hosted abroad or locally.
In the case of Parul Shah (2014) and Katrina Dimaranan (2012), their Bb. Pilipinas Tourism victories opened doors of opportunity they never imagined before. One door remains locked, though. And it is that one important passage that they would love more than anything else to pass through and negotiate.
Will their ever be hope for the Tourism title? Or is it high time to rest its inclusion in the annual roster and replaced with a brand-new franchise – however low-tier in status – but with a guaranteed chance of competing for the country?
I say yes, without batting an eyelash. ;-)
