Multiculturalism was at its best during the finals of Mister and Miss World Canada 2015 held in Vancouver last Saturday night. Jinder Atwal (an Indian-Canadian residing in Terrace, BC) and Anastasia Lin (a Chinese-Canadian representing Toronto) are now the representatives of Canada in this year’s Mister World and Miss World, respectively.
What’s extra interesting are their professional backgrounds. 6’1″Jinder Atwal is a graduate of Cellular Molecular Genetics who is into entrepreneurial endeavors that allow him to shuttle back and forth between Canada and Southeast Asia. 5’6″ Anastasia Lin, on the other hand, is considered an international film star and model who has appeared in a number of co-productions (including 20 credits in film and TV) and is a human rights activist.
Both winners will now be busy preparing for their respective international competitions which should take place during the last quarter of 2015. Congratulations! :-)
