But what really is Ms. Corporate America all about? Well, in their Facebook page, it makes mention of the following points:
● Provide a forum that highlights a woman’s professional achievements and accomplishments in the community and in the workplace.
● Uplift women to gain an appreciation for their role in society as successful leaders, business owners, and role models for other, young, aspiring business professionals.
● Build self-confidence and take pride in overall personal and professional image.
● Improve communication skills and strengthen interview skills.
● Emphasize that the Ms./Mrs. Corporate America Pageant is a resource for women to develop life skills that will shape their future and help them be their best in everything they do.
Reigning titleholder Charlene Rhinehart is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Project Management Professional and a Distinguished Toastmaster. She works with JPMorgan & Chase Co. To state that she is an achiever would be an understatement because she has literally spread her expertise not only in the corporate world, but also in community relations.
Now what if, just if, something like this would be created here and called Ms. Corporate Philippines? Will it work in the right direction? Or will added dimensions cloud the rightful selection of the winner? I can already see a lot of our businesswomen who would be eager to join the beeline. Not that I’m putting down those who just want to take in the glamour part, but it must make good sense of filtering the most qualified from those who are just in it for the crown, the title and the popularity.
Nah. I don’t think a Ms. Corporate Philippines will work out well without casting a shadow of doubt on the winner. Either that, or make a selection committee that is totally beyond reproach. ;-)
P.S. Have you already noticed the ‘Charlene’ theme going today? :-)
