Christine Balaguer may be deaf, but that did not stop her from pursuing her pageant dreams. During last Wednesday night’s finals of Miss Manila 2015, she proved to everyone that her physical limitation does not constitute a hindrance whatsoever. If at any, it turned out to be an advantage that she was able to utilize in sharing her views to the audience in a unique way – sign language, that is. And when she made it to the Top 5 and eventually became one of two last women standing (together with eventual Miss Manila 2015 winner Kaycie Lyn Fajardo) during the announcement of winners, the audience was hoping that she would be named #1. But 1st Runner-Up ain’t bad at all. In fact, it is a high honor to place higher than 24 other contenders.
Now, Christine is looking forward to fulfilling her responsibilities as one of Manila’s finest beauties in her own meaninful – albeit silent – way. Manila Mayor Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada will definitely benefit from having her as an ally for all the charitable and medical projects of the city.
Congratulations, Christine! :-D

P.S. Watch Christine during the Press Presentation of Miss Manila 2015. She is first in line in this clip so you won’t need to fast forward anymore. ;-)
