At the Plaza of Resorts World Manila and Newport Mall last night, the Festival Costume and Modern Terno competitions of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 left everyone in breathless joy with all the outstanding creations worn by the candidates. The quality and execution of all the pieces – from the elaborate tribal wear to the more sophisticated variations of the terno – impressed not only a few, but also the more discerning fashion critics in attendance.
At the end of the event, Janela Joy Cuaton of Doha, Qatar and Julee Bourgoin of Cagayan de Oro City were proclaimed Best in Festival Costume and Best in Modern Terno, respectively. Truth be told, there could have been more awardees in both segments that can measure up to the chosen recipients. It only goes to show how excellent our local designers can be once the objective to come up with world-class traditional numbers has been leveled up nicely.
Excellent job, Mutya ng Pilipinas and Viva Entertainment!

By the way, Pre-Judging for Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 will be held tomorrow, also at Resorts World Manila. And this is the part of the journey that all the candidates find very crucial. Make or break day, I must add, before the big night on Sunday, August 2.
