Miss Tourism Philippines 2015: A Near-Sweep for Laguna

The Province of Laguna was the big winner during last Thursday night’s Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 Coronation Night at the Solaire which extended till the wee hours of the morning (around 2am). Four (4) crowns were handed out, with the following ladies claiming honors:

1. Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 WORLD – Roanne Refrea of Cabuyao City, Laguna

2. Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 UNIVERSE – Riann Charlotte Kalaw of Lipa City, Batangas

3. Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 ECO TOURISM INTERNATIONAL – Leidda Paulette Babasanta of Sta. Rosa, Laguna

4. Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 ASEAN TOURISM AMBASSADRESS – Alexandra Mae Rosales of Calamba City, Laguna

While I am a bit taken aback by Laguna taking three of the four titles (with the 4th crown slipping away in favor of nearby Lipa City in geographically neighboring Batangas), they must really have scored well among the judges inspite of beautiful candidates from other parts of the Philippines who are just as deserving. National Director Gareth Blanco deserves a pat on the back for the good production value of the whole show hosted by actor Mikael Daez, Miss Philippines Air 2014 Diane Querrer and Onin Mas.

By the way, top winner Roanne Refrea is a product of Kagandahang Flores.

The four new titleholders will represent our country in Miss Tourism World 2015, Miss Tourism Universe 2015, Miss Eco Tourism International 2015 and ASEAN Tourism Ambassadress 2016. Except for Miss Tourism Universe in Beirut, Lebanon come September, hosting and schedule details for the rest have not yet been posted.
