Paolo Lester Caballero looked uncertain during the initial screenings of Misters 2015 The Pageant. There was nervousness in his delivery of answers and was almost quick to giving up after learning that there were other applicants from Bulacan (Malolos particularly) who were also in contention. All of that changed, though, the minute he made it to Final Casting. His confidence jacked up even more after nailing a spot among the Official Candidates. He is now the picture of a more solid competitor, and is prouder that he is representing his whole province in the male pageant.
Paolo, who measures a true 6 feet, used to do desk work at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources while taking in seasonal stage-acting gigs during the annual Passion Play in his hometown. But his good looks and tall height can never be ignored. He started accepting modeling stints and even joined a couple of provincial searches that held up his future pageant potentials. And here he is now. Beaming and bolder.

1) As a Misters 2015 candidate, give me a 30-second intro about yourself which will make followers show more interest in you.
I am the eldest son of a farmer and former Barangay Captain who led like some sort of a vigilante (Duterte’s Principle). Growing up, I regularly helped my father in our business of collecting garbages from the different fastfood outlets around Bulacan (I was 12 at that time). We segregated the wastes from the leftover food so that we can feed it to our pigs and other animals in the backyard and sell the plastics or anything that we can turn into money in the junk shop.
Be careful with me. I am dangerous because no one knows what I am thinking about. But for sure, I’m 100% a true friend of yours.
2) As one of the candidates, what image do you want to show the others?
I just want to be their friend. A friend who will eventually become part of their lives.
3) In Miss Universe, a popular running line is “yellow is the color of joy”. What color best represents you?
Red suits me well. This color symbolizes the willpower and courage that are characteristics of mine which controls my instincts in all actions and decision I’ve done.
4) Not everyone can win a special award in the competition, but if you are qualified for the following, which would you prefer to win: Mister Friendship or Mister Talent?
Mr. Talent because I want to get this ever since. Hahaha.
5) If you win one of the titles, people will expect you to be a good role model. How will you start building that image if ever?
It depends on what the organization wants to do. I can give the best of me whatever situation may arise. I want to start with who I am and how they will perceive the real me.
6. Having joined/participated in various modeling searches in the past, what difference do you expect in terms of handling the competition? Will you adopt a new gameplan?
The intensity is there. The candidates are very competitive. I don’t have a game plan and will just give my best. I just want to learn more and to have more experience and also polish all that I know in this field.
7. How do you expect your life to change after being named an Official Candidate of Misters 2015?
Sa totoo lang po, hindi ako nag-e-expect ng kahit ano na magbabago sa buhay ko. At first po kasi, sinisekreto ko po ang pagsali ko – yung handler ko lang nagsali sa akin. Pero sa ngayon, malabo nang itago. Ganunpaman, I will try to live a normal life hangga’t maaari. Ayun po.
8) Any message to your followers, Paolo?
Sa mga followers ko po, maraming salamat sa suporta at paniniwala. Gagawin ko ang lahat ng makakaya ko para maging maganda ang kalalabasan. Maraming Salamat po!
