I am featuring another Miss World Australia 2015 national finalist to show the diversity of candidates vying for the right to represent Down Under in Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China this coming December.
This time around, I’d like you to meet Aussie-Indian-Polish Ananya who is studying to become a Doctor at the University of Newcastle. It is very interesting to note how accomplished she already is (read her bio below) and with a meaningful advocacy to accompany her bid for the crown. Come August 30, she will face up to the challenge of wresting the title from Courtney Thorpe. And she hopes to be the one to do just that and get a bigger platform for her intended causes.
24 year-old Ananya Soni is a student doctor, ambassador for Bully Zero Australia Foundation, a White Ribbon Advocate and the CEO of her own NGO ‘The Vitamin Project’. She has recently become a published author, with her first book ’15 Poems to Change the World’ on bookshelves in September this year! Proceeds from this book will go directly to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. She engages in an array of activities to express artistic imagination including classical and contemporary dance, drama, painting and singing. She hopes to use the Miss World platform to further advocacy work in regards to child education and health access. She wants to eventually work for the United Nations and World Health Organisation.
Good luck in Miss World Australia 2015, Ananya! :-)
