A video on the history of the pageant is now being shown from the very beginning till now. Stella Marquez was given special mention as first winner. Precious Lara Quigaman’s 2005 win was also shown and mentioned in passing.

The swimsuit round is now in action.

Swimsuit round

I’m happy to note that the ladies (in groups of 10) are not being asked to dance and gyrate sexy moves while in 2-piece swimwear. They glide to centerstage more traditionally.

I’m liking Estonia, Ecuador, Hungary, India and Korea so far. I also like Lithuania, Mexico, Mongolia. And then, there’s also Netherlands, Nicaragua, Philippines and Poland. Further, I like Slovak Rep., Sweden, Spain, Thailand, Tahiti, USA and Venezuela (bumawi sa double twirls!)

I just noticed this. Why is there a quick jump in live streaming everytime Miss Philippines goes to the centerstage?

Time for four special awards. ’13 Miss National Costume winner is Miss Aruba.

’13 Miss Friendship is Miss New Zealand.

’13 Miss Internet is Miss Macau.

’13 Miss Photogenic is Miss Lithuania.

A longish break to allow the ladies to change into their evening gowns.

Evening Gowns now. Funny how the hosts go from slow to faster to a little faster then back to slow in calling the ladies.

The ones I like are Colombia, Ecuador, Estonia, Gabon, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tahiti, USA and Venezuela.

The Japanese host is now talking to the judges. In Nihongo, of course. They’re obviously killing time.

My personal Top 5 would be Philippines, Netherlands, Brazil, Hungary and Poland.

Another video of the ladies enjoying Tokyo is being shown now.

The Top 15 Finalists called back onstage to make way to the…

Top 5:
PHILIPPINES
NEW ZEALAND
COLOMBIA
NETHERLANDS
HUNGARY

Final Round: Speech now
Colombia tripped onstage before giving her speech in Spanglish, but more of Spanish without translations.

Hungary thanked Miss International then segued to her native tongue I couldn’t understand.

Netherlands stated that we should not stop sharing and caring. We are one.

New Zealand spoke about her platform of working to reduce inequality and enhancing education and work with women’s ideologies.

Philippines started with the agonies of her country in recent months and thanked the whole world for the support. From here, she wants to spread the message of hope of rising above difficulties if she becomes Miss International.

Note: Based on the final round, I would say Philippines, New Zealand and Netherlands will be Top 3.
