From the time that news broke out about the disqualification of Binibini 20 Kim Ross delos Santos and as confirmed by Jonas Gaffud of Aces & Queens yesterday early evening, the disappointments, protests and justice-seeking voices uniting against such a move from BPCI multiplied exponentially. Sadness was an understated feeling. My message inbox kept piling up with a lot of questions, concerns and comments about her true fate as a Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Official Candidate. I do not have the answers, only a small channel through which the true sentiments of people can be aired. Personally, I was left speechless. It’s more than just the removal of a potential winner that sets me two steps back. The mere fact that the sexy photo that caused her getting DQ’d is an unpublished shot gives rise to a flood of opinions as to whether the move was well thought-of or enough to give her this kind of “punishment”. It makes a lot of people think about the circumstances surrounding the submission of the same to the lawyers of BPCI. Is this situation similar to what happened to Megan Young before she won Miss World 2013 in Bali when some detractors did not stop in giving the Miss World Organization sexy images of her Rogue Magazine pictorial to topple her ascendancy to the blue crown? I don’t want to make speculations on who might have “goaded” the decision-makers.
The matter is now all in the hands of BPCI. And we can only hope for the best resolution, if one can still be arrived at after everything has been said, screamed and hollered about. Is this really the end of the pageant road for Kim Ross delos Santos? And even if she gets reinstated in the process, will she still keep the fire burning in her to give it a good fight? :-/
