After the fire fighter candidate in the previous post, here comes a 3rd year Law student of San Beda College Alabang who has future plans of specializing in Environmental Law once she becomes a full-pledged practitioner of the same.
Karen Claudene Barot is a 25 year-old brainy young woman who is wearing the sash of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro in Miss Philippines Earth 2016. And she is not your typical beauty contestant because of her sharper way with words and dedication to becoming successful in the legal profession.
“I want to become Miss Philippines Earth 2016 because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to influence people to adopt their own advocacy to heal and improve the environment. It is like embedding a footprint on earth when you get the chance to effect change on earth before we pass it to the next generation.”
“My chosen advocacy is the promotion of Corporate Environmental Responsibility. I chose this advocacy because development in our country is undeniably fast growing. The laws and policies are already in place to protect the environment.
Alongside with the progressing industries. However, some are still non-compliant to environmental laws which results to deterioration of our environment.”
