Renelyn Deguit is the 18 year old provincial charmer who won the regional search for Mutya ng Pilipinas Negros Island Region 2016 in Bacolod City just several weeks back. She stands 5’5″ and is a student of Bachelor in Office Administration at the Negros College Ayungon, Negros Oriental where she hails from.
There is something quite interesting in the life of Renelyn behind the klieg lights and cameras as you will find out in her personal thoughts below. Read now:
My life doesn’t have the grandeur as that of a celebrity in the limelight. I come from humble beginnings. Both my parents separated when I was young. My mother is a simple farmer who pitches on water spinach, most commonly known as ‘Kangkong’.
Yes. All she had was ‘Kangkong’ to sustain us for a living. I have resorted to joining beauty pageants when I was 12. Therefore, I understand the true meaning of responsibility and family in the pursuit of life.
Truthfully, Renelyn is an unaffected lass who takes pride in the family’s source of income and in the no-frills joy of rural living. I hope she gets to be appreciated by the judges when it matters most because she comes into the competition full of heart and commitment to rise above her current state.
Good luck, Renelyn!
