Everything should have wrapped up quick and fast. With the SM MOA initial screenings over and done with the weekend before last, the final screenings started earlier last week but got bumped to a final extension two days back at Solaire Resort and Casino.

And so finally, the 26 Official Candidates of Miss World Philippines 2013 were formally announced at the same venue after lunch earlier today. The ladies who will vie are as follows:

Inspite of being overly pressed for time and all, Ms. Cory Quirino is still bent on conducting fast-track events (including a sports challenge to be handled by Mr. World 2012 1st Runner-Up Andrew Wolff) to determine a few instant qualifiers for the semifinals come August 18. Let’s see how they will be able to squeeze out all the energy of the ladies as they try to hop from one activity to the next in a flurry.
Truth be told, this edition could be the survival of the fittest, the fastest, the smartest and the prettiest – all in the name of expected sleep deprivation, wash-and-wear beautification, quick changes, a dash of wit (hopefully) and a return Business Class ticket to Indonesia for Miss World 2013. Whew! I’m getting exhausted just thinking of how the next three weeks will unfold.
