And another Miss Philippines Earth 2014 “passes out” backstage during a pre-pageant activity in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
Bencelle Bianzon of Duenas, Iloilo was not able to complete an event when she failed to return onstage after a Q&A for the sponsor-related competition. And to think that she isn’t even overweight or anything. It must be the biting pressure and/or overextended periods of hunger due to (possibly misguided) dieting. Some ladies feel that eating has now become such a luxury that do not contribute to their figures.
Whatever happened to eating right? The organizers should coordinate well with the locals to make sure that whatever is served to the candidates won’t lead them to avoid eating altogether. Perhaps, giving them healthy salads and dishes should be imposed instead of preparing regional fares that are fatty. On one end, you can’t totally blame the ladies because they will never touch food before an event and would rather wait after everything is completed. Add to that the scorching summer heat and humidity and you’ve got people slowly melting like popsicle bars exposed to the sun.
It’s sad that these things happen with MPE. I hope they can find time to sit down and discuss things with concerned parties and individuals.
