Outside the endlessly-hyped bids of Megan Young, Patricia Lae Ejercitado, Ria Rabajante and Janicel Lubina, two other Miss World Philippines 2013 candidates appear to have long shots at winning the crown if the favorites get caught unguarded in their respective game plans. One is a fresh-faced newbie from Caloocan who always elicits some oohs and aahs everytime she glides into the midst of pre-pageant activities. The other one is a multi-lingual Filipino-Palestinian from the south of Metro Manila who is always ready and able to speak her heart out in fluid and engaging fashion.
From the looks of it, Pia Kamil Ochengco and Zahra Bianca Saldua could be the veritable dark horses in this year’s finals. While I am not (and won’t be) convinced of anybody other than Ms. Young to nail the top spot come August 18, stranger things have happened in past coronation nights. Surprises are not unusual. And sometimes, the less-likely winners turn out to be well-deserved victors, especially if they happen to be in their best elements when it matters most.

So if you had to choose, who deserves a dose of glory between the two? Pia or Zahra?
