Bea Rose Santiago publicly reveals her dismay and frustration

At exactly 1:11 into the video below, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago gathered enough guts to reveal on nationwide TV her dismay and frustration over her reign. Citing that she was not given the permission to start and move forward with planned charities, she could only bow her head in disappointment. And while there was no mention of which specific organization she is directing her complaints at, it could be the Japan-based ICA (International Cultural Association) being allegedly hinted since it has control over her activities and appearances.

In my opinion, BPCI can mediate but only to a certain extent.

“I wanted to do more but I couldn’t,” said Bea to reporter Mario Dumaual.

My hope is that Bea’s public declaration of dismay won’t put unnecessary strain in her relationship with the people behind Miss International. To express my sentiments in Tagalog, “Sana naman ay hindi ito maka-apekto sa paglaban ng ating kandidata ngayong taon sa Tokyo. Hindi pare-pareho ang disposisyon ng bawat tao, kaya hindi maikukumpara ang pananaw ni Bea sa kung sino man ang papalit sa kanya. At si Bianca na rin sana ‘yong makoronahan nyang susunod.“

I would have wished Miss International 2013 doing the TV patrol interview after her reign ends on November 11. But then again, it has already been aired all over the country and around the world via YouTube and TFC.

In Tagalog again, “Sa abot ng aking nalalaman, naka-kontrata siya sa Miss International kaya ang pagsulong ng kanyang mga pang-sariling kawanggawa ay maaari lamang simulan ng malawakan sa oras na matapos ang kanyang panahon ng pagkapanalo. Sana ay hindi lamang ang kakulangan o kawalan ng pag-biyahe sa iba’t-ibang bansa ang pinanggagalingan ng kanyang pagka-dismaya.“
