Let’s support Hillarie Parungao for the Multimedia and BWAP Award of Miss World 2015 via Alipay

I know that, with the busy pageant season in our midst, some of you are not too keen about getting into complex voting and support procedures for our representatives. Miss World really has a way of introducing new innovations that may look too demanding at first. But if you just spend a little more time understanding the mechanics, the step-by-step task is not really full of tangles.

Hi everyone! Please read very carefully. I truly need your help on this because this shall be part of the official MULTIMEDIA CHALLENGE that can raise money for BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE:

Starting from TODAY, the contestants at Miss World 2015 have a new and exciting challenge set for them, creating a collective video diary of their time at Miss World whilst raising money for ‘Beauty with a Purpose’!

Alipay.com, a major Chinese online payment platform available WORLDWIDE, have teamed up with Miss World to make this project happen. Part of the Alibaba Group, Alipay is a digital wallet that shoppers use to buy products online, on their phones, and even in-stores.

With 350 million registered users, it is almost triple the size of its U.S. rival, PayPal. Alipay have recently launched a new social feature on their app, involving filming short video clips uploaded and shared amongst users.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
The contestants have all been given special accounts linked to their phones. Until the 15th of December, They will each be filming short 6 second videos on their mobile phones, documenting their time here in Sanya. These videos will join together to create one continuous film, which can be viewed on the Alipay app by the entire world by following these easy steps.

The contestants have been encouraged to film interesting, exciting and engaging content to showcase their experience at Miss World 2015. Users are then encouraged to donate a small amount of money when they see a video that they particularly enjoy.

HOW IS IT JUDGED?
Every time a video receives a donation the contestant who uploaded the video receives +1 points. The more points a contestant gets, the better score they receive for the Multimedia Award!

All of the money will then be added up and donated to the China Charities Aid Foundation for Children (www.ccafc.org.cn)

So in summary, Hillarie will be creating short videos about their stay in Sanya and other parts of China. These quick clips will be uploaded and linked to their special Alipay.com accounts where viewers can actually make donations should they find the same interesting and worth supporting. The candidate with the highest amount of donation will be brought forward in the lead for the Multimedia Award that is tied closely with the Beauty With A Purpose Challenge where collected funds will be given to the beneficiary, China Charities Aid Foundation for Children (www.ccafc.org.cn).

So far, Hillarie is running strong among the leaders in terms of donations. As of my last check, she is in the Top 3 along with New Zealand and Singapore.
