Binibini 6 Candy del Castillo of Bocaue, Bulacan will always strike anyone as warm and soft-spoken. A teacher outside of pageantry, she comes off as a dependable ally of the students inside the classroom with her easy and accessible approach to learning. Of course, she turns 180 degrees the minute she goes into full Bb. Pilipinas mode. She sincerely aspires to win one of the crowns this year to hopefully use the powerful platform to spread the need for good education among the young ones.

Teaching is a vocation rather than a profession. What’s more important is not what you’ll get out from it but what you can share and give. So I think I’m a giver and a patient teacher!

What does Easter Sunday mean to you as an individual?

Easter Sunday is a celebration of the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a reminder of how He loves us that He fulfilled his promise of saving us from our sins.

Being a Binibini and a Teacher at the same time, what are the best values that should be taught to young students at an early age that they can bring until they become adults?

The value of respect. If everyone will learn how to respect one another, we can have a peaceful society and a better world. We must remember that respect begets respect.

If there are three good things you could separately wish for three other Binibinis, what would these wishes be and why?

For Geisha Naganuma – I wish that people will stop bashing her because of her being a replacement. People should understand that it is not her fault and that she deserves to be a candidate. She is a beautiful person inside and out.

For Jeslyn Santos – I wish her more happiness and one of the crowns of Bb. Pilipinas, hopefully all of us from JDV.

For Christianne Ramos – I wish her more happiness in her personal life.
