Sam and the food he eats

Mr. World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani is way up there where health and fitness are concerned. His body is proof positive that healthy and clean living can always work wonders to an individual’s over-all wellness. Here is his pitch on the subject matter:

“As you know, health and fitness have always been my passion. To be honest, I care about having a good lean body and staying healthy. The problem with most people is they choose instant gratification when it comes to the food they consume on a regular basis and then they wonder why they don’t look and feel good. If you are over weight and you want to reach your body goals you will need self control, impulse control, patience and will power. You may have to eat some of the foods you love less often, but the results will leave you so happy and satisfied, that you may never even think about going back to the same old eating habits again! Now how about that for a change? If you are serious, go ahead and take the first step today. My friends in @thehealthyhouseph have made it easy for you by providing you just what you need in order to lose or gain weight. Call them and start your healthy diet now and you will get free consultations from me as well.  :) ‪#‎fitness‬ ‪#‎healthychoices‬ ‪#‎healthy‬‪#‎healthydiet‬ ‪#‎gym‬ ‪#‎leanbody‬ ‪#‎motivation‬‪#‎fitnessboysph‬ ‪#‎lifestyle‬

Now the purpose of this post is not to dream about getting the kind of body Sam Ajdani has. That would be an entirely different maze of plots to follow. Eating the right food should be a good start. And this is where The Healthy House comes in handy. No tall stories and advises on how to improve on your food intake, but simple and down-to-earth guidance on what is best for your body. Consider this step like starting up a seedling fund where you can reap the rewards gradually without relying on empty promises. ;-)

mgm1 Tomorrow night, Ms. Gay Manila 2015 will be crowned at the PICC Plenary Hall. One of the twenty-seven (although only 26 are pictured on the website due to a duplicity of photos) lovely candidates will take home the first-ever title which comes with half a million in cash prize. Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada will grace the occasion to award the top winners and show his 100% support to the search.

Going back to the contenders, you’ll be surprised at the smart and smooth communication skills of most as they can easily give our national beauty pageants a quick run for the Q&A money. I listed below my dozen favorites to take the crown. ;-)

My Twelve (12) Picks for Miss Gay Manila 2015

My Twelve (12) Picks for Miss Gay Manila 2015

Off my head, I would anticipate both Francine Garcia and Trixie Maristela (Super Sireyna winners both) to fight tooth and nail for the victory, although there could be some really pleasant spoilers – like Michelle Binas – just waiting to get their moment in the spotlight.

But this much I can say, whoever will end up as #1 will definitely be a great spokesperson for the LGBT community of the City of Manila. For once, I am totally doffing my hat to Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada for elevating the image of gay beauty pageants and going all-out in this endeavor. :-D

image During last week’s Veluz S/S 2015 Bridal Show, two (2) of the models particularly stood out because of their beautiful faces and shining aura. And they are familiar names as well – Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Official Candidate Alaiza Malinao and Asia’s Next Top Model S3 contender Monika Sta. Maria.

Monika-wise, we’re still unsure if she won the pan-regional modeling competition, although the remaining gunners are now down to six (6). Alaiza-wise, she is rumored to give Bb. Pilipinas a second try, either next year or 2017. What fate awaits them in their respective endeavors?

In the meantime, enjoy their images in this post as taken by Bruce Casanova. ;-)

patriziabosco21 And I reckon that Patrizia Lucia Bosco’s return to Manila won’t be just about relinquishing her Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities 2014 title during Mutya 2016 happening by June-July. Methinks she will make serious considerations about joining another pageant. Could it be Miss World Philippines 2015? Or perhaps, she will start her required residency in the country in order to qualify for Bb. Pilipinas 2016?

Whichever route this Fil-Italian stunner will decide on, she will definitely be trained and polished even more in order to make an extra exciting re-appearance. ;-)

What could be Patrizia's post-Mutya-ng-Pilipinas pageant plans?

Now it can be finally confirmed. The 10th Anniversary of Mister International will be held in Manila on November 28!

Mister International 2014/15 Neil Perez happily welcomed this news as he will be awarding his successor in front of his countrymen, as well as being the big brother of the foreign delegates during their stay here.

I have from a reliable source that this year’s edition will be bigger, with more candidates expected to participate as compared to previous years.

Expect your blogger to comprehensively cover this one. Watch out for more announcements! ;-)

Just as I predicted, the winner of Ms. Gay Manila 2015 could only be one of my two top picks. Trixie Maristela took home the crown, while Francine Garcia settled for 2nd Runner-up honors. In between the two of them is 1st Runner-up Marianne Arguelles.

Trixie won P500,000 in cash prize and will now be the LGBT spokesperson for the City of Manila. Marianne and Francine each got P200,000 and P100,000, respectively.

The finals night – held at the PICC Plenary Hall – was hosted by Paolo Ballesteros and Divine Lee, with Anne Curtis Smith as guest performer.

Congratulations to Trixie, Marianne and Francine! :-D

Throwback Thursday: Shamcey Supsup’s life before the pageant

imageimageAll of us are aware of her story right from the time she was plucked out of UP Diliman after graduating Magna cum Laude with a degree in Architecture up to that fateful year in Bb. Pilipinas 2011 when she was crowned the country’s representative to the Sao Paolo-hosted Miss Universe where she placed in the Top 5 and was named 3rd Runner-Up to Leila Lopes.

But how much do you really know about the life of Miss Universe Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup-Lee before she became a Beauty Queen, TV host and now, a successful restaurant owner with her husband Lloyd Lee?

Well, let’s allow Shamcey to do all the talking in this 15-minute video I stumbled upon on YouTube. It was taken last year when she was invited as one of the inspirational guest speakers for Accenture Philippines’ “Many Facets of Being a Woman” series where she detailed about her life before the pageant and how dreams can be transformed into reality. During last night’s Ms. Gay Manila 2015 finals at the PICC Plenary Hall, some people curiously asked Miss Manila 2014 KC Halili which designer she was wearing. She proudly answered, “Bessie Besana!

Of course, you all know my friend Bessie Besana as Mark Besana, one of the several pillars behind Aces & Queens. Well, the lovable guy can now add a new profession to his already colorful achievements in the pageant world – Fashion Designer.

Prior to this career shift, Bessie was doing corporate work before spending almost a year fulfilling a logistics-based position in Hong Kong. It is here where he realized that pageant life is what really makes him happy and fulfilled. And so, he enrolled at Slim’s to equip him with the technical know-how. His creative juices happily flowed from there, and the rest was inaugurated last night when his first muse – KC Halili – paraded the first-ever creation. He plans to initially foray into pageant designing, while continuing with his coaching job for Aces & Queens. I bet we’ll hear and see a lot from him in the months and years to come.

bessiebesana1 It will all be pleasantly uphill from this point for Bessie Besana, the Brand (see logo on the right) and the Fashion Designer.

Count on my 100% support every step of the way. And I’m sure my dear readers will also welcome you with open arms. Right, guys? ;-)

Best of luck, my dear friend!

Next week will be extra challenging for the candidates because the important preliminaries will be conducted where their performances will be graded to see who will figure out well during next Friday’s Grand Finals at Tanghalang Pasigueno.

Top of my head right now, one of the several Asians could be the first-ever Mister United Continents titleholder. The entries from Lebanon, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines are particularly noteworthy. I’m not counting out Australia, Guam and Dominican Republic, though. They could give the regional favorites a run for their money. ;-)

Miss Universe Philippines 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (beautifully captured by Jonas Gaffud in the photo above) continues with her daily training with John Cuay at Gold’s Gym. And mind you, the fitness program designed for her is physically punishing but for a really good cause.

John’s description of the first video below:

“It pays to functionally train one’s core! Pia did a 4 level intermediate core challenge. SUPINE – MERMAID – KNEE – STAND! Short term goal is met this month, which sorta put a smile on my face. Significant changes as far as numbers in the waist and thighs are concerned. We are on the track people! Yahooooo!!!

Good job Miss Universe Philippines 2015″

PS: I want Pia to wear something loose when she works out, wala lang, just for the BASHERS!

John’s description of the video below:

“Workout of the day! – “2 direction leg circles, roll over, and partial V pose at the end range”

The 29 core muscles are made sure to contract all throughout this particular workout. The extremities are isometrically contracting as well. The V pose at the end is to make sure that every muscle of Pia’s body is being worked out. 1 out of 20 exercises that she did earlier at Golds Gym Glorietta.”

Christine Balaguer: To Re-join or Not

Many thoughts are running inside Christine's head right now. Re-joining Bb. Pilipinas is one of them.

image

Christine during the screening of Bb. Pilipinas 2015

Nowadays, Christine Balaguer is mulling about a lot of things. And in her quiet world, there are many plans and aspirations she is seriously thinking about. Re-joining Bb. Pilipinas is one of them.

I was chatting with her on Messenger earlier this week.

“How sad last january when bpci made me resign as a candidate.” :(

“…I want to go back to bbp next year coz its my dream and everyone is encouraging me to go back…”

“It’s my dream to win a crown and next year is the last chance for me.” :(

I can only rely on her sentiments and not push any further as to why she got removed from the roster of Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Official Candidates. There was really no formal revelation of the actual reason/s behind the same (which I seriously believe is not about her being deaf). And I can feel the strong desire in her to return and give it one final try. Whatever the case was last January must’ve been settled/properly clarified by now.

If there are no hurdles too high to surmount or legalities/rules to bend, then I am quite supportive of her wish. She wants to ready herself for the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 screenings early next year.

And if her camp, Aces & Queens, is game about preparing her once more, then I can only say “Go for it!”. :-)

Dumaguete native Ma. Fatima Diago Alsowyed, or “Tim” for short, is still waiting for everything to sink in. After winning the Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines 2015 title last Thursday night at Resorts World Manila, she still couldn’t believe the good fortune that befell her. Given the tough batch of competitors, she is thankful for being adjudged as the most deserving victor.

With her beautiful face, knockout body and pleasant personality, I am hopeful that the organizers won’t put her reign in the backburner. She should be given the chance to compete in Miss Bikini International 2015 without a hitch.

For now, enjoy your reign, Tim! Your life should be extra special between now and mid-2016. ;-)

Screenings will run from 9:00am to 7:00pm.

Be sure to put your best foot forward once there. It’s going to be an exciting opportunity for interested applicants.

I bet Miss Manila 2014 KC Halili and Ms. Gay Manila 2015 Trixie Maristela will be around to welcome all comers. ;-)

Just a little over a week before the MPE2015 finals, a dramatic transformation for Sofia Loren Deliu

image

I'm liking the new look of Sofia

In a little over a week from now, Miss Philippines Earth 2015 will be crowned at the SM MoA Arena on May 31. And at this point of the pre-pageant competition, everyone can feel the tension in the air – a usual feel during the homestretch when the candidates are trying their best to outshine one another.

And Miss Baguio City Sofia Loren Deliu just did something that no other beauty contestant has done in the past – cut her hair short! The photos in this post show a totally different aura for the Police Officer. It’s a risk that can either pay off handsomely or backfire in the process. We all know that Hana Shampoo is the pageant’s main presenter. And while she is no longer in the running for the hair care brand’s special award, it is still believed that a short hair could be frowned upon by the judges. Or not.

image

Sofia when her hair was still long

If Miss Universe 2015 4th Runner-Up Kaci Fennell will be used as benchmark, fans and followers believe that the snipped tresses could have been the culprit as to why she finished dead last among the Top 5. But if the organizers of Miss Philippines Earth are ready to take that bold step in crowning someone with a shortened mane glory, then Sofia could be hitting the right direction with this bold effort.

Good luck, Sofia Loren Deliu! :-)

Angelee is raring to go to Angola for the competition

Miss Philippines Earth 2013 Angelee Claudett delos Reyes has a new title. She is now Miss Multiverse Philippines 2015 and will prepare for the international reality-based beauty pageant in Angola this coming July.

Most of you will wonder whatever happened to the supposed participation of Patricia Tumulak in this competition. Unfortunately, she is not in the best physical shape at the moment and had to beg off from the commitment in order to fully recover from a reported sickness.

As a result, possible replacements were sounded off to the franchise holder, and Angelee was the one appointed (with the help of her mentor Rodgil Flores) because of her beauty, communication skills and lively personality. You see, Miss Multiverse 2015 will be structured like a reality-based search to be aired on TV (not including the Philippines, of course) so it is a must that the person is comfortable and delightfully spontaneous while cameras follow her every move during the entire run of the program. This is one challenge that the former will apear

Congratulations, Angelee! ;-)
